Purpose of the Role: The Front of House (FOH) team member is the first point of contact for all members, visitors, and prospective clients. The role is responsible for creating a welcoming, professional, and friendly environment. This is a dual-role position, combining Front of House responsibilities with Duty Manager duties to support the smooth, safe, and efficient day-to-day operation of the gym.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
- Reception & Administration:
- Manage the reception desk during operating hours.
- Answer phone calls & emails.
- Book trial classes and introductory sessions.
- Maintain accurate member records and attendance using the gym management system.
- Process memberships, renewals, cancellations, and payments.
- Facility Operations:
- Ensure reception and communal areas remain clean, tidy, presentable.
- Monitor stock levels for retail items, refreshments.
- Assist with opening and closing procedures.
- Report maintenance or health and safety issues promptly.
- Member Experience:
- Welcome members and visitors with a friendly and professional attitude.
- Assist new members with onboarding, registrations, and general enquiries.
- Build positive relationships with members and help foster a welcoming community atmosphere.
- Duty Manager Responsibilities:
- Take overall responsibility for the building during your shift, ensuring the building is safe, secure, and operating efficiently.
- Manage the opening and closing of the facility, including setting and disarming alarm systems and following all security procedures.
- Monitor and manage building systems, reporting any faults or maintenance issues promptly.
- Complete incident reports accurately and in line with company procedures.
- Conduct routine risk assessments and support the implementation of health and safety measures.
- Record and monitor temperatures and operating conditions of fridges, freezers, plunge pools, saunas, and other facilities, ensuring all checks are completed in accordance with company procedures.
- Escalate any health, safety, maintenance, or operational concerns to the appropriate manager in a timely manner.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies, health and safety regulations, and operational procedures.
- Café & Refreshments:
- Prepare and serve coffees, smoothies, protein shakes, and other refreshments to members and visitors.
- Maintain high standards of food hygiene and cleanliness within the café area.
Full-time position, 40 hours per week.
