Location – Southend Airport (Onsite at Dunhill Aviation)

Hours – Monday to Friday approximately 25 hours per week

Salary – 32,000 – 38,000 pro-rata

About the Role

Dunhill Aviation is a growing aviation engineering business based at London Southend Airport. Working with private and commercial aircraft, we're building a modern aviation business and are looking for an experienced Senior Bookkeeper to take ownership of our finance function and grow with us.

This is an opportunity for a confident, organised, and proactive self-starter who can take ownership of the entire day-to-day finance function. Working with a high degree of autonomy, you'll establish effective financial processes, maintain accurate financial records, and provide reliable financial support to a busy and growing business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions and supporting day-to-day running for Dunhill’s financial operations
  • Monthly & quarterly management accounts preparation
  • Process and review sales and purchase invoices
  • Manage supplier payment runs and reconcile supplier statements
  • Record day-to-day financial transactions and complete the posting process on Xero
  • Reconcile bank statements and ensure accuracy of financial data
  • Supporting the preparation of VAT returns
  • Prepare monthly management information and financial reports for the Directors
  • Day to day running of the financial function at Dunhill Aviation
  • Work closely with the engineering team to improve job costing, invoicing processes and financial systems

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong bookkeeping experience and understanding of accounting principles and practices
  • Proficiency with Xero and Apron and Microsoft applications
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently
  • Organised, detail-oriented, and able to work independently
  • Bookkeeping or Accounting qualifications (such as AAT) are advantageous, however, extensive proven experience in a senior role is essential
