Polyframe Products Ltd has provided fenestration solutions to the construction industry for over 25 years. Manufacturing PVCu windows and doors from our factory in Lenwade using two of the most trusted PVCu profiles, REHAU and Eurocell, we combine the highest quality materials with our fenestration expertise to ensure our customers receive market leading service and quality.
Responsibilities
- Loading and Unloading
- Ensure that all products are loaded and unloaded in a safe and suitable manner using approved methods and mechanical handling aids as appropriate to the size, weight and type of equipment.
- Ensure that the total payload does not exceed vehicle weight limits and is evenly distributed on the vehicle.
- Use suitable approved methods to secure the load in/on the vehicle during transit and, where appropriate, ensure it is protected from weather, impact or other damage.
- Check paperwork to ensure that all delivery/collection loads are correct as to description prior to setting off and ensure that all equipment on the vehicle is accounted for.
- Visually inspect products being unloaded and loaded for delivery or collection to observe that it is complete and in good condition. Rectify/report any issues to the dispatch department as appropriate.
- Deliveries and Collections
- Deliver products to customer sites, ensuring that only authorised personnel receive and sign for the goods, and complying as far as possible with customer directions.
- Ensure that all site rules are observed whenever operating on customers’ premises.
- Comply with all company and site health & safety rules including the correct use of PPE where appropriate.
- Any collections must have the correct paperwork, ensuring that all products and accessories designated for collection are identified and collected, and ensuring that any excess, shortage or damage is correctly recorded and acknowledged by a person authorised to act on behalf of the customer.
- Working with the Transport Supervisor/Planner, agree an itinerary prior to leaving the base depot or point of collection, delivery or transfer, and keep in contact with the Dispatch Department to notify progress or any delays or difficulties and agree an alternative schedule if circumstances dictate.
- Ensure all returns/collections are labelled with a Returns Label and unloaded from vehicle before the end of your shift.
- Customer Service Standards, Promotion of the Company
- Strive always to conform to agreed delivery times and instructions, while paying due regard to the legal requirements of the Road Traffic Act and the Drivers Hours Regulations.
- Ensure that customers are notified in advance of any anticipated problems or delays.
- Make every effort to advise and assist customers in a helpful and courteous manner and to promote a favourable view of the company.
- Demonstrate flexibility by being prepared to work outside of normal working hours to meet customer requirements.
- Respond sympathetically but neutrally to any customer complaints and ensure that these are relayed to the Depot Manager.
- Always maintain a smart standard of personal presentation and wear clean and presentable branded company workwear.
- Build trust and relationship with customers.
- Distribute company promotional literature and catalogues and keep customers informed of the range of products or services offered, highlighting any new products which may be of interest.
- Gather sales intelligence on new customer requirements and sites and report this to the Transport Supervisor/Planner.
Skills & Experience
- Holds a Full driving licence valid in the UK for the class of vehicle to be driven.
- Previous experience of multi-drop delivery driving, and of driving the relevant vehicle class.
- Has a good knowledge of the geography of Great Britain.
- Good standard of personal presentation, spoken English and handwriting.
- Good knowledge of legislation affecting commercial vehicle operating procedures.
- Able to carry out manual handling tasks.
- Positive, pro-active person with a friendly approach.
- A great work ethic with a positive, can-do attitude.
What We Offer
- Salary: £14.85ph = £30,888pa + Overtime after 48 hours x 1.3.
- Bonus: up to £800 per annum.
- Contract: Permanent.
- Hours: Tuesday to Friday 40 hours, (4am Starts and on average 1/2 overnight stay a week when needed, £25 overnight payment).
- Location: Norwich (You will be covering anywhere in the UK).
