Stevenswood is looking for a helpful and hardworking Delivery Driver / Warehouse Operative to join its Stockport branch. This is a varied and physically active position in which you will support customers and colleagues while maintaining high standards throughout the warehouse, branch and delivery vehicle.

The Role

As a Delivery Driver / Warehouse Operative, you will help ensure goods are received, stored, prepared and delivered safely and efficiently. You will regularly interact with customers, making you an important representative of Stevenswood and its commitment to ensuring customers are fully supported. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Liaising with customers to arrange timely and professional deliveries.
  • Delivering goods safely and providing excellent customer service.
  • Accepting customer payments in accordance with company procedures when required.
  • Receiving deliveries from suppliers and checking that goods arrive in suitable condition.
  • Picking stock and preparing loads for dispatch.
  • Replenishing shelves and checking that stock remains in good condition.
  • Maintaining high standards throughout the warehouse, branch and company vehicle.
  • Keeping external areas, including the car park and skip areas, tidy and clear.
  • Helping to maintain branch displays and promotional materials.
  • Responding appropriately to customer questions or complaints and escalating issues when necessary.
  • Supporting branch targets and working collaboratively with colleagues.
  • Following all health and safety procedures and working responsibly.

About You

The successful candidate will have:

  • A valid UK driving licence with fewer than six penalty points.
  • The ability to meet the company’s motor insurance requirements.
  • A reliable, responsible and customer-focused approach.
  • Good planning, organisation and time-management skills.
  • The ability to build positive relationships with customers and colleagues.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • A willingness to undertake manual handling and other physical aspects of the role.
  • Pride in maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment.

Previous experience within the window, door, building-products or trade-counter industry would be advantageous, particularly experience handling industry products, but it is not essential.
