We are seeking an experienced and driven Conference & Banqueting Manager to lead the planning, delivery, and execution of a wide range of events - including weddings, conferences, gala dinners, and matchday hospitality. This is a hands-on role where you will take ownership of event operations, lead a dynamic team, and ensure every event is delivered to the highest standard - creating memorable experiences for our clients and guests.
Key Responsibilities
- Event Planning & Coordination: Work closely with clients to plan, coordinate, and deliver events including weddings, corporate meetings, seminars, and matchday bar operations. Ensure all event requirements are understood, documented, and executed flawlessly.
- Operational Management: Oversee the setup, delivery, and turnaround of function spaces in line with BEO (Banquet Event Order) specifications. Ensure all rooms and facilities are presented to the highest standard.
- Team Leadership: Recruit, train, schedule, and motivate a team of catering, service, and event staff. Lead by example to deliver outstanding customer service at all times.
- Food, Beverage & Technical Delivery: Work collaboratively with the Head Chef to deliver high-quality food service. Coordinate all technical aspects including sound, lighting, and AV requirements.
- Financial Performance: Manage departmental budgets, control costs, and drive revenue growth. Ensure all events are delivered profitably while maintaining quality.
- Customer Experience: Act as the main point of contact during events. Proactively resolve issues and ensure a seamless guest experience.
About You
- Experience: Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in a similar hospitality, events, or catering role (experience within a football club or stadium environment is advantageous).
- Leadership: Strong team leadership skills with the ability to inspire and develop staff.
- Communication: Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills.
- Attention to Detail: Able to manage multiple events and priorities under pressure.
- Flexibility: Willingness to work evenings and weekends as required (37.5 hours per week).
