The primary purpose of our Damp and Mould Surveyors is to assess, diagnose, and provide solutions for damp and mould issues within residential properties. This role involves conducting thorough inspections to identify sources of moisture, evaluating the extent of dampness and mould growth, and recommending appropriate remedial actions to prevent future occurrences. Our Surveyors work closely with our Repairs Team, residents, contractors and our housing teams to ensure a safe and healthy living environment, while also providing expert advice on building maintenance and moisture control strategies.
We are looking for a candidate who:
- Has proven experience in conducting comprehensive damp and mould assessments and developing effective remediation strategies.
- Can oversee the full surveying process, ensuring compliance with building regulations and health and safety standards.
- Is skilled in collaborating with various stakeholders, including property owners, tenants, and maintenance teams, to address damp and mould issues effectively.
- Possesses a strong knowledge of Awaab’s laws and can analyse and report on survey findings and trends.
- Excels in managing and enhancing the reputation of the surveying team while educating residents about damp and mould prevention.
- Has experience in leading training initiatives within the team in the identification and management of damp and mould issues.
- Is passionate about fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the Damp and Mould surveying team at Stevenage Borough Council.
