Steven.com is The Creator Company – a new kind of holding company built at the intersection of media, community, and entrepreneurship. We believe the world’s most powerful forces for change are media, connection, and entrepreneurship, and that the next generation of global companies will be built by creators who can inspire and mobilise communities around a mission. Our purpose is to help today’s highest‑potential creators and entrepreneurs build a healthier, happier humanity through the companies they create.
We operate as a flywheel of three interconnected engines:
- Media – capturing attention, building trust, and distributing ideas to millions.
- Community – turning audiences into real‑world tribes through experiences, education, and connection.
- Investing – converting that trust and insight into long‑term equity value by backing or building the next generation of category‑defining businesses.
The most important part of our machine isn’t technology, capital, or distribution – it’s people. As Steven often says: “The meaning of ‘a company’ is simply a group of people, and hiring the right ones is the single most important thing you’ll do.”
The Mission
This role runs the most critical engine inside Steven.com: talent. We are building one of the most ambitious creator‑entrepreneur ecosystems in the world and success will come down to finding and empowering exceptional people. The Talent Lead is responsible for identifying, attracting, and closing A‑players across our core team, our creators, and our incubated ventures.
You will not only recruit directly for Steven.com, but also help our portfolio companies and creators scale their own teams – turning our natural strength in people and recruitment into a full‑blown competitive advantage and a repeatable talent engine.
This role is for someone who understands that recruitment is both marketing and matchmaking – a blend of human intuition and systemised precision. You’ll combine storytelling, data, and technology to build a modern, AI‑enabled, and community‑powered talent function that’s as innovative as the companies we build.
Key Responsibilities
- Build the Talent Engine: Design and execute a repeatable, scalable hiring process for Steven.com and its ecosystem (core hires, creators, and portfolio companies). Build out the executing team.
- Marketing‑Led Hiring: Use LinkedIn, storytelling, and creative campaigns to position Steven.com as the destination for world‑class talent.
- Direct Hiring: Manage end‑to‑end recruitment for leadership and specialist roles across the UK and US.
- Talent Inbox Management: Oversee and systemise Steven’s talent inbox, mining inbound messages from his posts and platforms, triaging high‑potential candidates, and converting this inbound interest into real hires.
- Network Activation: Harness our internal and external networks – investors, founders, creators, advisors – to attract the most exceptional talent globally.
- Culture Test Matching: Use Culture Test results to identify and match A‑players to the most appropriate teams and ventures within the Steven.com ecosystem.
- Creator & Founder Support: Help creators and incubator founders hire their first key operators, marketing leaders, and commercial talent.
- AI & Systems: Leverage AI tools (for sourcing, screening, outreach, and insights) and data dashboards to improve hiring speed, accuracy, and performance.
- Candidate Experience: Create a world‑class candidate journey that leaves every applicant inspired, regardless of outcome.
- Talent Advisory: Partner with leadership to forecast hiring needs, shape role profiles, and ensure every hire supports the long‑term vision.
Key Outcomes
- Elite hires made across Steven.com and its ventures, with exceptional performance and retention.
- Portfolio founders supported with hiring playbooks, frameworks, and direct candidate support.
- Culture Test embedded as a key tool for matching talent to culture fit across teams.
- Steven.com recognised globally as a destination employer for creators, operators, and investors.
- Candidate experience consistently rated as outstanding.
Experience
- Experience in recruiting, talent acquisition, or people strategy in high‑growth startups, VC, or creative industries.
- Strong understanding of startup hiring, founder psychology, and high‑performance culture.
- Excellent storyteller and communicator able to sell a mission, not just a job.
- Skilled in LinkedIn, social media, and marketing‑led recruitment to reach and engage passive talent.
- Comfortable leveraging AI tools to enhance sourcing, outreach, and data analysis.
- Commercially minded and data‑driven – measures success by quality, speed, and retention.
- Networked and trusted – able to build genuine relationships with top‑tier talent, founders, and creators.
