SALARY AND BENEFITS: £43- £47K + Pension (up to 10% matched) + Health Scheme

THE ROLE: The Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer role is a key position working for our client in the manufacturing sector in Hull. They offer an excellent working environment with a collaborative and collective approach. The Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer role is a permanent position working 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday (days).

REQUIREMENTS: Ideally candidates for the Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer role will meet the following requirements:

  • Served a recognised engineering apprenticeship.
  • 17th Edition electrical Regulations certified.
  • Knowledge and understanding of PLCs.
  • Ideally holding NVQ Level 3 or City and Guilds in appropriate subject.
  • Preferred experience of working as a Maintenance Engineer/Technician in a fast moving, food or packaging, manufacturing environment.
  • Team player, flexible, self-motivated.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Mechanically repairing and maintaining all plant and equipment to ensure downtime is kept to a minimum.
  • Assisting in the investigation and diagnosis of problems relating to breakdowns and repairs.
  • Undertaking the repair and refurbishment to plant and equipment in accordance with planned maintenance requirements and in breakdown situations.
  • Maintenance and setting up of all plant and equipment on site.
  • Assisting with the installation of new plant and equipment and to obtain sound working knowledge of plant, equipment and processes.
  • Reporting and/or recording all activities i.e. time spent, materials and spares used as appropriate on Pirana (CMMS).
  • Liaising with contractors and third parties to source and manufacture parts required to maintain and improve process and production requirements.
  • Liaising with machine manufacturers to help aid fault diagnosis and parts identification to maintain optimal plant performance.
  • Ensuring that the correct statutory, legal and health and safety legislation is observed and adhered to.
  • Working alongside all departments as a collective and collaborated team to maintain and achieve the best outcomes.
  • Ensuring good housekeeping principles are maintained.
  • Ensuring that all company policies and procedures are followed on all such matters as training, safety, discipline, security, company rules, etc.
  • You can be required to undertake such other duties, temporarily or on a continuing basis, as may be required of you commensurate with your grade/level in the organisation.
  • From time to time, you may be expected to work an amount of overtime to ensure the needs of the business are met.
