SALARY AND BENEFITS: £32.5K + Pension (up to 10% matched) + Health Scheme

THE ROLE: The Health and Safety Coordinator role is a key position working for our client in the manufacturing sector in Hull. The successful candidate will support the delivery of a safe, compliant and proactive working environment. The H&S Coordinator role is a permanent position working 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday. Some flexibility with the hours may be required.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the development and implementation of H&S policies, procedures, and safe systems of works, to include contractor control, PTW systems, and associated record keeping.
  • Conduct risk assessments, and maintain RA and PUWER database, inspections and audits, ensuring actions are tracked and completed.
  • Maintain the Hazard ID system, through reporting, maintain and are tracked through to completion.
  • Assist with incidents and accident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action follow-up.
  • Coordinate and maintain accurate Health and Safety documentation, training records and compliance logs.
  • Support Managers and teams with Health and Safety guidance and practical support.
  • Schedule and deliver toolbox talks, inductions, and awareness briefings.
  • Ensure COSHH compliance by auditing and maintaining chemical inventories and associated Risk Assessments.
  • Prepare H&S reports to support internal reviews and communication briefs.
  • Promote and champion a positive safety culture across all levels of the business.

Qualifications:

YOU MUST HAVE THE FOLLOWING:

  • Experience in a Health and Safety role (Coordination / Advisor or similar).
  • Knowledge of UK H&S legislation and best practices.
  • Ability to conduct Risk Assessments and investigations.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong computer, IT and organisational skills to include PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Good attention to detail and record keeping.
  • Comfortable at engaging with people at all levels.

It would be desirable if candidates also had:

  • NEBOSH (either currently studying or a willingness to complete).
  • First Aid, Fire Marshal, or other relevant safety training.
