SALARY AND BENEFITS: £32.5K + Pension (up to 10% matched) + Health Scheme
THE ROLE: The Health and Safety Coordinator role is a key position working for our client in the manufacturing sector in Hull. The successful candidate will support the delivery of a safe, compliant and proactive working environment.
The H&S Coordinator role is a permanent position working 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday. Some flexibility with the hours may be required.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support the development and implementation of H&S policies, procedures, and safe systems of works, to include contractor control, PTW systems, and associated record keeping.
- Conduct risk assessments, and maintain RA and PUWER database, inspections and audits, ensuring actions are tracked and completed.
- Maintain the Hazard ID system, through reporting, maintain and are tracked through to completion.
- Assist with incidents and accident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action follow-up.
- Coordinate and maintain accurate Health and Safety documentation, training records and compliance logs.
- Support Managers and teams with Health and Safety guidance and practical support.
- Schedule and deliver toolbox talks, inductions, and awareness briefings.
- Ensure COSHH compliance by auditing and maintaining chemical inventories and associated Risk Assessments.
- Prepare H&S reports to support internal reviews and communication briefs.
- Promote and champion a positive safety culture across all levels of the business.
YOU MUST HAVE THE FOLLOWING:
- Experience in a Health and Safety role (Coordination / Advisor or similar).
- Knowledge of UK H&S legislation and best practices.
- Ability to conduct Risk Assessments and investigations.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong computer, IT and organisational skills to include PowerPoint and Excel.
- Good attention to detail and record keeping.
- Comfortable at engaging with people at all levels.
It would be desirable if candidates also had:
- NEBOSH (either currently studying or a willingness to complete).
- IOSH Managing Safety.
- First Aid, Fire Marshal, or other relevant safety training.
