ESTIMATOR POSITION : Estimator LOCATION : Hull SALARY AND BENEFITS : £30 – £40k Dependent on experience , 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, pension, healthcare and life insurance. THE ROLE : This is an exciting opportunity for candidates with some previous experience working as an Estimator or similar role. Our client is an established and well respected specialist contractor working in the Construction / Engineering sectors. They offer a friendly working environment with the potential for long term stable employment. In addition to this they offer the opportunity to receive first class training and support as you develop your career YOU MUST HAVE THE FOLLOWING : * Previous experience working as an Estimator or Assistant Estimator in either the Construction or Engineering sectors * Strong IT skills, particularly in Excel, with a willingness to learn new estimating software. * Excellent analytical, mathematical, and communication skills with an attention to detail. * Enthusiasm for learning new skills and working in a primarily office-based environment, with occasional site visits. DUTIES WILL INCLUDE : * Small Jobs (Take-offs): Manage estimations for smaller projects, using spreadsheets to calculate quantities and develop pricing based on labour norms. Research the cost of materials, equipment, transport and labour. * Pricing and Quotation: Collaborate with suppliers and both the internal and external teams to create comprehensive cost estimates, accurate quotations and timescales. * Office Support: Assist Managers with technical administration, follow up on enquiries, order materials, and ensure that quoted prices reflect actual costs. Prepare RAMs as needed for projects. Help with bids for new contracts and support buying activities. * Monthly Cost Tracking: Produce monthly spreadsheets to monitor and review project expenses, making sure costs are kept in line with forecasts To find out more about the Estimator role please contact Steve Ball on the number provided.
