We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Monitoring and Data Analyst to join our growing Operations team in Birmingham. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the performance and optimisation of one of the UK's largest portfolios of solar assets.
Stern Energy operates ground mounted photovoltaic systems for over 450MW in the UK. We are among the largest operators in Europe with activities in 5 countries and over 1.6GW under management. We specialise in delivering revamping and repowering projects to enhance asset performance.
Main responsibilities
- Remote monitoring and analysis of solar farm performance using multiple monitoring platforms.
- Management and triage of system alarms to ensure timely fault identification and resolution.
- Calculation, tracking, and reporting of key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Coordination with Project Managers and field teams to facilitate fault diagnosis and corrective actions.
- Collection, validation, analysis, and reporting of operational and performance data.
- Support the management and troubleshooting of solar farm communication networks (LAN infrastructure).
- Creation and maintenance of assets within Stern Energy's CMMS.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define reporting requirements and develop data-driven solutions to support business decisions.
- This role requires you to be available for work during some weekends and bank holidays.
Skills and qualifications
Essential
- Advanced Excel skills and experience analysing large datasets.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Fluent English.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Desirable
- Experience within the photovoltaic or renewable energy sector.
- Familiarity with PV monitoring systems and SCADA platforms.
- Knowledge of CMMS systems.
- Understanding of network communications and LAN infrastructure.
