Main responsibilities:

  • Reviewing and managing risk assessments, method statements and permits to work.
  • Evaluate and update existing health and safety procedures to align with new legislation or policy changes.
  • Provide guidance, support, technical information and assistance to subcontractors who work on our sites.
  • Collaborate with departments and the Head of Health and Safety to develop and implement effective, best-practice safety systems.
  • Supporting accident / incident investigations and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) of near misses and incidents to ensure safe working procedures are being followed in respect to company policy and UK legislation and regulations.
  • Perform regular site inspections / audits and prepare detailed reports for the Head of Health and Safety.
  • Identify and highlight trends from health and safety visits, inspections, and reports, and review related risk assessments and controls.

This role will report directly to the QHSE and Administrative Manager.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong experience working in a Health and Safety environment.
  • Highly organised with the ability to prioritise multiple demands.
  • Experience or an understanding of the electrical or solar PV sector would be of benefit, but is not essential.
  • Knowledge of UK health and safety standards and legislation.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH) are a strong advantage.
  • Experience with ISO 45001 would be of benefit.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a hybrid work environment.
  • Proficiency in English.
