We’re partnering with an Investment Bank to hire a Cloud & AI Engineer to join a growing engineering function focused on next-generation cloud platforms, automation, and AI enablement within a highly regulated banking environment. As AI adoption accelerates across the business, this team is evolving beyond traditional cloud infrastructure into a modern engineering capability responsible for building scalable, secure and sustainable AI-driven solutions across their multi-cloud environment. The Opportunity
- You’ll join a collaborative engineering team responsible for designing and delivering cloud-native and AI-ready solutions that underpin critical banking services.
- The role offers exposure to modern cloud architecture, automation frameworks, generative AI tooling and enterprise-scale engineering challenges.
- You will:
- Design and implement cloud and AI solutions predominantly across Azure, with exposure to AWS/GCP.
- Develop bespoke automation frameworks, integration, and AI‑driven components to support business requirements.
- Develop REST APIs and identity‑aware services.
- Drive Infrastructure-as-Code, CI/CD and platform engineering best practices.
- Support AI governance, security controls and responsible AI initiatives.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, security and application teams on scalable cloud solutions.
- Contribute to architecture standards, reusable patterns and operational excellence.
Key Skills & Experience
- We’re looking for engineers with strong cloud engineering fundamentals combined with software development and automation expertise.
- Experience of Python/ PowerShell scripting skills.
- Familiarity with Azure OpenAI, OpenAI SDK/models, and applying AI services to real‑world use cases.
- OpenAI SDK, GPT models, embeddings and vector workflows.
- Experience developing REST APIs and integrations.
- Knowledge of identity and authentication technologies including OAuth2 and Entra ID.
- Understanding of cloud security, IAM, governance and compliance.
- Exposure to Azure OpenAI / Generative AI tooling.
- AI governance / Responsible AI exposure.
- Experience within financial services or regulated environments.
