Sterling Insurance is currently recruiting individuals to join our expanding Sales Team. This team supports the continued growth in new business that we have seen over the past year. In this role, you will assist customers with their insurance needs, primarily through telephone communication. You will handle incoming calls from clients, and there is no cold calling involved.

You will be joining a company that is part of the Adrian Flux Group, which received recognition for its market-leading flexible working arrangements at the United Kingdom Culture Awards in 2023.

  • Flexible working hours. After completing training, you can manage your own schedule, working either 30 or 35 hours per week, with no weekend shifts required.
  • Starting salary ranges from £23K to 25K, depending on experience.
  • Paid overtime is available after training. You can earn £15 per hour, and up to £18.75 for hours worked beyond your weekly schedule. Just five extra hours per week could add over £4,000 to your annual income.
  • Career development opportunities. You can increase your basic salary through our annual grading system, which offers up to £28,500 P.A.
  • Performance bonuses. Staff who meet all key performance indicators and targets can earn up to £300 per month.

Career progression is encouraged.We promote only from within, and with the right attitude and effort, advancement into management roles can happen quickly. Our current record for promotion to management is 24 months.

Requirements:

Previous experience in motor insurance is preferred. You should have strong communication skills, be confident, resilient, and possess a friendly and helpful personality. Basic computer skills are also necessary.

Role Overview:

Your main responsibilities will involve speaking with customers, understanding their needs, providing quotes for private motor and commercial van insurance, and securing NB polices. You will also take payments, handle online quotes, and follow up with customers who have requested call-backs.

Full training will be provided, including product knowledge, system usage, insurance underwriting, and sales techniques. A confident and friendly telephone manner is essential.

Daily responsibilities may include:

  • Handling a minimum of thirty calls per day.
  • Working collaboratively with your team and receiving support from your Team Manager.
  • Meeting service level benchmarks set by your manager.
  • Striving to improve call quality and maintaining compliance with industry regulations.
  • Achieving personal and team targets.
  • Learning and applying product knowledge to assess client needs accurately.
  • Promoting additional products and benefits where appropriate.
  • Staying organized and communicating effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Making outbound calls to follow up on leads and sell NB policies.
  • Providing excellent customer service, often being the first point of contact after the initial sale.
  • Building professional relationships with team members.

Working Hours:

Flexible working is available from Monday to Friday between 9 am 7 pm in the evening.
Let us know your preferred working pattern.
Saturday work is optional, with hours from 9am to 2pm in the afternoon.
