Operations Analyst

London/Hybrid

Permanent

Salary circa Β£35,000

Sterling Williams are working alongside a great Investment management company who are seeking a permanent member of staff to join their operations team, this role would be perfect for someone with 1-3 years exposure within finacial services.

Purpose

  • The role acts as a support function for all areas of Asset Servicing and Cash Management.
  • Day to day cover of BAU processes and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate security static data, pricing and exchange rate information.
  • Support end-to-end corporate actions and income processing activities.
  • Conduct Cash Management processes, including client payments, internal cash administration and ISA administration.
  • Support accurate tax administration and reporting within the Tax Team.
  • Act as a key operational contact for internal stakeholders and third-party service providers.
  • Contribute to operational excellence, risk reduction and process improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

As part of the rotational role, responsibilities will include:

  • Provide oversight support for security set up and maintenance. Preservation of counterparties, holiday calendars, security types and trading-related static data.
  • Maintain daily market prices and exchange rates, including forwards, and complete manual pricing or price checking where required.
  • Manage static data queries and coordinate ad hoc data clean-ups to preserve data integrity.
  • Disseminate corporate action information to the relevant business areas and manage corporate action instructions.
  • Ensure client and fund accounts are updated accurately with entitlements and income outcomes.
  • Support CGT, book cost and income-related operational tasks and queries.
  • Maintain tax procedures and controls, working with internal teams and providers where required.
  • Administer daily banking, internal cash, SIPP cash and ISA administration activities.
  • Ensure daily, weekly and monthly controls are completed and appropriately evidenced.
  • Provide clear updates to internal and external clients and resolve enquiries in line with service expectations.
  • Support business projects, testing and operational components of new or changed products and services.
  • Keep abreast of relevant market, product, industry and regulatory developments impacting operational processes.

Stakeholder Management & Continuous Improvement

  • Build strong relationships with investment teams, dealing desks, custodians, auditors and service providers.
  • Support business projects and change initiatives.
  • Identify procedural improvements and operational efficiencies.
  • Maintain procedure documents and ensure adherence to controls.
  • Provide management information and operational reporting as required.

Skills & Experience

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to interpret and summarise large quantities of information.
  • Advanced/intermediate Excel skills.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated initiative, ownership and problem-solving capability.

Knowledge

  • Knowledge of equities, bonds, funds, ETFs and fixed income instruments.
  • Knowledge of tax-wrappers such as ISA, OSB and SIPP.
