Here at Sterling Recruitment Services we have a fantastic opportunity for a Sales Engineer for our client based in Trimdon. Sales cycles can be a short as one week or as long as a year or more and vary in size from £500 per transaction to multi-million pound projects to long term supply agreements. The sales engineer needs to have an agile approach to sales and engineering, someone who is not averse to getting involved with sales/engineering related tasks at all levels of the business. Sales are varied in mix and size, speed and complexity and the roll requires an individual doesn’t mind variety of; * Fast paced, transactional – aftermarket business. * Medium paced, solution selling – what are the products and technologies we are offering and how can we adapt those to meet the needs of customers. * Long term, consultive selling – what are the customer needs and goals and how can we use, or develop, our portfolio of products to meet those needs. Person Specification * An excellent work ethic and the desire to drive and support commercial activities * A good methodical approach with great attention to detail. * Good problem-solving abilities and analytical skill set. * Great communication skills, both verbally and through e-mail, Microsoft Teams, etc. * Good relationship building skills. * Able to interface with key stakeholders both internally and externally. * I.T skills are essential and as well previous experience using ERP systems. * Engineering experience is essential. * Experience working in the rail or bus industries would be an advantage. * Able to travel occasionally, mainly in the UK. Responsibilities * Initiate and introduce potential projects relevant personnel. * Work with the customers to understand and manage technical requirements. * Work with project managers and the wider team to understand the customer requirements. * Assessment of scope and feasibility of manufacture. * Creation of cost calculations. * Presenting information to internal and external stakeholders. * Manage incoming bids and tenders workstream. * Preparation and delivery of quotations Qualifications * Engineering qualifications (mech or elec) are a must. * Relevant sales/commercial experience would be an asset. This is a office based role Mon-Thurs (Apply online only), Fri (Apply online only). However occasional UK travel is involved
