We are seeking a passionate and driven Manager to lead Ham’s Hame Pub & Grill, one of St Andrews’ most characterful and welcoming venues. This is an exciting opportunity to take full ownership of a busy outlet, delivering exceptional food, drink and service in a relaxed yet refined environment. Nestled beneath the iconic Hamilton Grand, next to the 18th hole of the world’s most famous golf course, Ham’s Hame offers outstanding Scottish cuisine in an informal setting. As Manager, you will oversee the day‑to‑day operation of the restaurant and bar, ensuring consistently high standards that reflect the Old Course Hotel, inspire and support your team, drive revenue, manage costs, and collaborate with the Food & Beverage leadership team to create memorable guest experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations of Hams Hame, including opening and closing of the bar, managing stock, ordering inventory, managing associates and handling customer inquiries.
  • Maintain standards and operating procedures.
  • Ensure all service and bar processes are followed, controlling costs.
  • Support and coach direct reports effectively, ensuring the highest standard of customer service is provided to all guests.
  • Resolve any guest complaints satisfactorily, ensuring all expectations are met and retaining customer loyalty.
  • Forecast staffing requirements, ensuring adequate staff volumes.
  • Maintain high standards of performance via appraisals and personal development plans, in line with business values and objectives.
  • Drive the success of the Food and Beverage Team through identifying continuous improvement areas.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience supervising teams within a restaurant environment.
  • Excellent team management skills with the ability to motivate associates effectively.
  • Familiarity with food safety regulations and culinary practices related to beverage service.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on customer interaction.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast‑paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • A proactive approach to problem‑solving with strong organisational skills.

Hours

Full time, 40 hours over 5 days.

Salary

Up to £40,000 per annum.
