Hybrid working model with 3–4 days per week onsite in Cheltenham. Salary £45–£50K, depending on skills and experience, plus a fantastic benefits package including a company bonus. We are seeking a Senior Industrial Designer to help shape the future of our product ranges through insight-driven concept development, refined execution and strong understanding of materials and manufacturing. Working closely with engineering and marketing teams, you will contribute to projects that champion user‑centric innovation, quality and sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
- User‑Centred Design & Innovation: Develop thoughtful, user‑centred showering and bathroom products from initial insights and early innovative concepts, through to design for manufacture. Create sketches, CAD models, prototypes, and storytelling visuals to explore and communicate ideas. Integrate market trends, technical constraints, sustainability principles and long‑term design thinking into project work. Stay informed on emerging materials, technologies, and user trends.
- Execution & Delivery: Prepare refined CAD, visuals, CMF documentation, and detailed design specifications to support decision making and manufacturing. Work closely with the prototyping lab to execute prototypes of various levels of fidelity. Collaborate closely with engineering and suppliers to ensure design integrity through tooling, testing, and launch.
- Collaboration: Contribute to project leadership by helping define design direction and supporting decision making in collaboration with Marketing and Engineering. Participate in design reviews and senior stakeholder presentations. Support a positive, creative and collaborative studio culture where innovation can flourish.
Experience and Capabilities
- 5+ years of industry experience delivering products end to end (from concept to manufacturing). Preferred, in‑house experience.
- Demonstrated experience leading multidisciplinary design projects in collaboration with key stakeholders.
- Methodical and thorough approach to user‑centric design, alongside ability to seek clarity and move at pace.
- Experience conducting and digesting user and desktop research.
- Ability to navigate problems of a complex nature and think conceptually.
- Strong sketching and rapid prototyping abilities.
- Strong knowledge of injection moulding.
- Exceptional CMF sensibility, aesthetic judgement and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Collaborative, self‑motivated, curious, hands‑on and adaptable.
- Highly proficient in SolidWorks and Keyshot.
- Experience with Adobe CS (Illustrator and Photoshop).
- Ability to manage time effectively across multiple projects and tasks, whilst working to deadlines.
- Fluency in English, UK work eligibility, valid passport & willingness to travel.
Nice to Have
- A degree in Industrial Design, Product Design or a related discipline.
- Experience designing mass premium products for the home.
- Experience in UX/UI (Figma).
- Digital sketching ability (Procreate).
- AI prompting experience.
- Ability to define finishes/material palettes and knowledge of finishing processes.
- Knowledge of additional CAD/visualisation tools.
- Curiosity for inclusivity, circular design, and material innovation.
