About the Role
Our award-winning culinary team, led by our Executive Chef, is looking for a Head Steward to oversee kitchen porters and maintain back‑of‑house cleanliness and hygiene.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for cleanliness and sanitation of all kitchen equipment, pots and pans, glassware, china, silverware, floors, walls, food preparation areas, storage areas and back‑of‑house hallways and stairs.
- Create and monitor daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning schedules for all kitchen areas and equipment.
- Comply with hazardous chemical use and training programs.
- Maintain inventory of kitchen equipment, cleaning supplies, detergents, crockery, glassware, and equipment stores.
- Develop and manage a waste management program to optimise recycling levels.
- Reward and recognise high performance to maintain staff morale and high standards.
- Ensure work standards and a safe, respectful working environment in line with HOME values.
- Utilise Quinyx for scheduling Kitchen Porters based on forecasted business levels.
- Hold daily briefings and handovers to ensure essential cleaning duties are performed timely and hygiene standards maintained.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience in kitchen or foodservice cleaning supervision.
- Knowledge of housekeeping standards and kitchen hygiene regulations.
- Understanding of hazardous chemical handling and training requirements.
- Ability to maintain inventory and manage supplies.
- Strong organisational skills and ability to set and monitor cleaning schedules.
- Leadership experience, with ability to motivate staff and recognise high performance.
- Ensuring a safe & respectful work environment.

Permanent, Full Time 40hrs over 5 days per week

£32,637.54 per annum
