Role Overview
As our Building Safety Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in:
- Progressing delivery of government-funded remediation projects under the Building Safety Fund (BSF). You will assist with liaising between the retained professional team, contractors, BSF delivery partners, the BSF and required regulatory bodies to ensure positive movement to progress required remediation. This will include site inspections when works start.
- Assisting with progressing applications with the Building Safety Regulatory on those properties within our managed portfolio which qualify for mandatory registration as a high rise residential building under the Building Safety Act 2022. Your role will require you to work alongside the Property Management Department on those properties which fall into the above roles ensuring the assigned Property Managers are aware of progression of those activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Coordination: Act as primary point of contact for Building Safety Fund remediation projects assisting initially with a view to take primary role. Schedule and coordinate site inspections, contractor appointments, and stakeholder meetings. Track project milestones.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all works meet government funding criteria and fire safety standards (post-Grenfell). Monitor changes to building safety legislation and update processes accordingly.
- High Rise Residential Buildings works: Prepare and maintain Building Safety Case Reports for submission to BSR in line with prevailing regulations using bespoke software. Assist in presenting and communicating with leaseholders regarding works scope, timelines, and costs. Work closely with project managers and senior management. Identify process efficiencies and propose enhancements to project workflows. Support wider Property Management Department activities as needed – role to develop depending on applicant's capacity on existing work.
