A well-established law firm based in Twickenham is looking to recruit an experienced Conveyancing Legal Assistant to join their busy and friendly residential property team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with at least 12 months' residential conveyancing experience who is looking for a stable, long-term role within a supportive and professional environment.
The Role
Working closely with experienced Fee Earners, you will play a key role in supporting the smooth progression of residential conveyancing matters from instruction through to post-completion. This is a permanent, full-time, office-based position. Hours: Monday to Friday, 8.30am - 5.00pm (Office Based)
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Supporting Fee Earners with day-to-day management of residential conveyancing files
- Opening new files and issuing initial client care documentation
- Verifying client identification in line with AML requirements
- Using case management and ledger systems accurately
- Acting as a point of contact for clients, handling queries professionally by phone and in person
- Preparing contract documentation and raising pre-contract enquiries
- Ordering searches and assisting through to exchange and completion
- Post-completion tasks and file closure/archiving
- Ensuring all telephone calls are returned promptly and within agreed timeframes
- Maintaining excellent file management and compliance with internal procedures
- Delivering consistently high levels of client and introducer service
About You
- Minimum 1 year's experience in residential conveyancing
- Confident supporting Fee Earners with end-to-end file progression
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail
- Professional, client-focused and able to manage a busy workload
- Comfortable working with minimal supervision
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
