Full-time permanent role co-ordinating road freight operations and warehouse logistics within a busy operations team
Based in Redditch, Worcestershire, with modern office and warehouse facilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily bookings for UK and European road transport freight
  • Handle both import and export customs clearance documentation
  • Oversee warehouse operations including stock control, goods in/out and customer updates
  • Operate forklift equipment for vehicle loading and unloading (training provided if required)
  • Maintain job files, raise documentation, and update transport management systems
  • Liaise with clients to provide quotations, confirm bookings, and resolve operational issues
  • Negotiate rates and manage relationships with carriers and suppliers
  • Work closely with internal sales teams to assist with quotations and service delivery
  • Ensure excellent service levels, meeting client expectations and handling any service issues promptly
  • Complete invoicing on job completion and maintain performance statistics
  • Participate in regular operations and sales meetings to review workload and team activity

Ideal Candidate:

  • Previous experience in UK transport or European freight forwarding operations is essential
  • Hands-on warehouse experience with a valid forklift licence (or willingness to undertake training)
  • Strong customer service and sales skills, including rate negotiation and quotation delivery
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills with attention to detail
  • Able to prioritise tasks, work to deadlines and remain calm under pressure
  • Proactive and self-motivated with a strong team ethic

Role Highlights:

  • Salary circa £34,000 dependent on experience
