Full-time permanent role co-ordinating road freight operations and warehouse logistics within a busy operations team
Based in Redditch, Worcestershire, with modern office and warehouse facilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage daily bookings for UK and European road transport freight
- Handle both import and export customs clearance documentation
- Oversee warehouse operations including stock control, goods in/out and customer updates
- Operate forklift equipment for vehicle loading and unloading (training provided if required)
- Maintain job files, raise documentation, and update transport management systems
- Liaise with clients to provide quotations, confirm bookings, and resolve operational issues
- Negotiate rates and manage relationships with carriers and suppliers
- Work closely with internal sales teams to assist with quotations and service delivery
- Ensure excellent service levels, meeting client expectations and handling any service issues promptly
- Complete invoicing on job completion and maintain performance statistics
- Participate in regular operations and sales meetings to review workload and team activity
Ideal Candidate:
- Previous experience in UK transport or European freight forwarding operations is essential
- Hands-on warehouse experience with a valid forklift licence (or willingness to undertake training)
- Strong customer service and sales skills, including rate negotiation and quotation delivery
- Excellent communication and organisational skills with attention to detail
- Able to prioritise tasks, work to deadlines and remain calm under pressure
- Proactive and self-motivated with a strong team ethic
Role Highlights:
- Salary circa £34,000 dependent on experience
- Monday to Friday, 08:30–17:30
