We're partnered with an established
Financial Services organization in Bournemouth
that is investing heavily in its internal technology function. They're now looking for a capable
2nd Line IT Engineer
to join their technical team and play an important role in supporting and developing a secure, highly reliable IT environment. This is a great opportunity for someone who has built a strong foundation in 1st/2nd Line support and is now ready to
step into a more technically demanding position . Rather than simply resolving tickets and moving onto the next issue, you'll have the opportunity to work across core infrastructure, cloud platforms, virtualisation and cyber security within an environment where technology is critical to the day-to-day operation of the business. You'll be working across
Microsoft Azure, Active Directory, Microsoft 365 and virtualised infrastructure , troubleshooting more complex technical issues and supporting the availability, performance and security of the organisation's systems. You'll also gain valuable exposure to
cyber security , helping maintain robust technology environments and supporting the wider IT team with security-focused initiatives. The role offers particularly strong scope for
technical development . As you build your knowledge and demonstrate your capabilities, you'll be encouraged to take ownership of increasingly complex infrastructure issues, contribute to projects and develop beyond traditional 2nd Line support. There is a genuine pathway towards
3rd Line, Infrastructure Engineering and more senior technical positions , making this an excellent opportunity for an engineer who wants to build a career rather than simply move into another support desk role. Working within Financial Services also means you'll gain experience in an environment where

Strong troubleshooting and technical problem-solving ability
Good working knowledge of
Microsoft Azure
Experience supporting
Active Directory
Strong understanding of
Microsoft 365
Exposure to
virtualisation technologies and virtual environments
Understanding of
cyber security principles and best practices
Experience diagnosing and resolving escalated technical issues
Good understanding of infrastructure and systems administration
Strong communication skills with the ability to work with both technical and non-technical users
A genuine interest in developing towards
3rd Line / Infrastructure Engineering
