Kubernetes at Scale | Infrastructure Ownership | High-Impact Engineering Environment

We’re partnered with an exciting and forward-thinking technology business that is continuing to invest heavily in its engineering capabilities. They’re looking for an experienced DevOps & Infrastructure Engineer who wants genuine technical ownership and the opportunity to work on infrastructure that directly supports critical production services.

This is not a traditional DevOps position focused on maintaining legacy environments or simply working through tickets. You’ll be given the freedom to build, automate, optimize and improve production infrastructure, working on technically challenging problems where reliability, scalability and performance are genuinely important.

You’ll take ownership of production Kubernetes environments, developing and scaling platforms while driving improvements across automation, resilience and observability. You’ll also work heavily with Terraform, Ansible and Linux, helping create highly automated and reliable infrastructure across physical and virtual environments.

You’ll be part of a small, highly skilled engineering team where your ideas and technical input are genuinely valued. You’ll have the opportunity to work closely with talented engineers, influence architecture and take projects from initial concept through to production.

For an engineer who enjoys getting hands-on with modern infrastructure and wants the autonomy to make a real difference, this is an opportunity with plenty of scope to make your mark.

Required Skills:

  • 5+ years experience across DevOps, Infrastructure or Platform Engineering
  • Strong commercial experience managing Kubernetes in production environments
  • Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code, particularly Terraform, Ansible or similar
  • Excellent Linux administration skills
  • Experience supporting highly available production platforms
  • Strong understanding of infrastructure automation, reliability and scalability
  • Experience with monitoring, observability and infrastructure optimization
  • Ability to take ownership of infrastructure projects from concept through to production
  • UK based and able to commute to Southampton

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience with Proxmox VE or Ceph
  • Strong networking knowledge
  • Security-focused approach to infrastructure
  • Experience within SaaS, hosting or real-time infrastructure environments

Exclusive Benefits:

  • £90,000 - £110,000 Salary + Excellent Benefits
  • Hybrid Working Southampton
  • Hands-on ownership of production Kubernetes infrastructure
  • Work with modern DevOps, Cloud & Infrastructure technologies
  • Significant exposure to Terraform, Ansible, Linux and automation
  • Opportunity to influence architecture and platform strategy
  • High level of autonomy and technical ownership
  • Work alongside a small team of highly skilled engineers
  • Take ownership of major infrastructure projects from design through to production
  • Long-term career progression within a technology-driven business

If you’re a DevOps & Infrastructure Engineer who enjoys building high-performance infrastructure, automating wherever possible and working with Kubernetes at scale, this is an opportunity to take real ownership and make a measurable impact.
