We are working with a high-performing technology business in Bournemouth that is scaling fast and investing heavily in its technical leadership layer. They are now looking for a Lead Technical Engineer - someone who still loves being hands-on but also wants real influence over technology, standards, and direction.
This role sits right at the intersection of engineering and leadership. You will be the technical escalation point, guiding other engineers, shaping infrastructure decisions, and leading complex cloud, infrastructure, and security work. No politics. No endless approvals. Just ownership, trust, and the freedom to build things properly.
If you are currently a strong 3rd Line / Senior Engineer doing leadership without the title (or pay), this is the role that finally gives you both.
Required Skills:
- Strong background in senior technical or 3rd Line roles
- Deep knowledge of Windows Server, Microsoft 365 & Active Directory
- Hands-on experience with Azure, virtualisation & infrastructure design
- Solid networking knowledge - firewalls, switching, VPNs, security
- Confident mentoring and supporting other engineers
- Calm under pressure and trusted as a technical authority
