Position Overview
We are recruiting for a Maintenance Engineer to support our IP sites.
This role is key in ensuring the safety and efficiency of our sterile processing, and offers the chance to make a real difference in patient care.
Working hours are Monday to Friday 08:00‑16:30 with an on‑call rota.
Candidates may be required to travel to other sites within the group.

Responsibilities
- Track plant and machine maintenance and repairs to ensure uninterrupted service provision.
- Oversee the work of all contract and service engineers.
- Perform weekly tests required to maintain sterilisers and washers in accordance with Cf PP.
- Inform the National Maintenance Manager of changes in machine cycle profiles and related maintenance needs.
- Ensure all machinery is serviced before the start of quarterly and annual validations.
- Facilitate scheduling of yearly validation of plant equipment.
- Ensure that all machinery and equipment meets the Medical Devices Directive requirements.
- Maintain validation and calibration certification required for MDD registration.
- Maintain the spare parts and tools store and advise the National Maintenance Manager on stock replenishment.
- Perform scheduled PPM weekly maintenance and inspections as outlined in the plant maintenance schedule, supporting the QMS.
- Participate in the on‑call rota.
- Travel to other sites and locations within the Group as needed.
- Act as an integral member of the sterile processing team, contributing innovation, continuous improvement, and best practice.
- Support staff development and training initiatives.
- Participate in the Synergy Health Performance Management System.
Qualifications (Required Experience)
- Apprentice‑trained engineer or equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years of engineering experience within facilities or manufacturing.
- Mechanical or electrical training or qualification.
- Full UK driving licence with a maximum of 3 points.
