We are currently recruiting for a Sterile Services Technician vacancy. This is an excellent opportunity to join the business at an entry‑level and receive world‑class training to get you on to a defined career pathway.
Training & Working Pattern:
- 12 weeks training, the first few weeks you will work Mon – Fri, 09:00 – 17:00
- Thereafter, training will continue during regular shift hours – Part‑Time, Wed – Sun, 22:00 – 08:00
What You Will Do:
- Follow a highly regulated end‑to‑end sterilisation/decontamination process on surgical instruments used in operations in local NHS and private hospitals, ensuring they can be used again safely for the next patient.
- Effectively prepare sterile consumables (dressings, linen, surgical instruments, and equipment) by decontamination, inspection, assembly and packing within predefined quality standards.
- Rigorously check, wash, lay up and pack sets of theatre instruments to meet contract specifications within predefined quality standards.
- Safely operate and monitor machines and equipment (washers/disinfectors, ultrasonic and sterilisers).
- Record and log repairs and missing instruments or equipment on the Tracking and Traceability computer system (SynergyTrak).
- Return repaired instruments or equipment to stock or the appropriate coded sets or the Trust's appointed person.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Educated to a good general standard with demonstrable verbal and numerical abilities.
