Training and Working Pattern
- 12 weeks training. During the first 2 weeks, you are expected to attend training at 9:00-17:00. Thereafter, the training will continue during your regular shift hours which are full-time, 37.5 hrs per week on
- Monday to Friday 13:00-19:00
What is involved
- Ensuring the effective preparation of sterile consumables, instruments, and equipment) by the process of decontamination, inspection assembly and packing within predefined quality standards.
- Rigorously checking instruments, laying up and packing sets of theatre instruments in trays to meet contract specifications within predefined quality standards.
- Safely operating and monitoring machines and equipment used in the decontamination and sterilisation of surgical instruments.
- Ensuring that repairs and missing instruments or equipment are recorded and logged on the Tracking and Traceability computer system (SynergyTrak).
- Ensuring that repaired instruments or equipment are returned to stock or the appropriate coded sets or the Trust’s appointed person.

Required Experience
- Educated to a good general standard with demonstrable verbal and numerical abilities.
- Basic end user IT skills to operate track and traceability IT system.
