We are currently recruiting for a Production Manager vacancy. This is an excellent opportunity to join us at leadership level in a division that drives the business forwards through innovation.
What You Will Do
The Production Manager will be responsible for the management and execution of Manufacturing Operations to ensure products are produced efficiently, on time, within budget, and meet all quality and safety standards. Through innovative Continuous Improvement and LEAN methodology, drive efficiency gains to increase output capabilities, meet the continued growth in global demand, and identify areas to achieve favourable cost ratio.
- Managing all required functions to successfully execute the manufacture of capital equipment, associated accessories and service engineering requirements via SOP’s to achieve the functional and quality standards of all products in the business portfolio.
- Drive pace and performance of operatives through effective communication, enforcing performance expectations, successful time management, monitoring and appraising job results, coaching employees to produce the desired standard of products and facilitate their development, initiating, coordinating and enforcing systems, policies and procedures.
- Co-ordinate monthly, weekly and daily production plans, organising work flow sequencing by efficient scheduling and deployment of resource to achieve operational targets.
- Establishing priorities, monitoring progress, revising schedules and resolving issues where required.
- Oversee and inspect work to maintain organizational quality standards and enforce site safety policies and procedures.

- Provide training and guidance for new operatives, and for any new products added to the range.
- Work with the CI resources to develop the working areas, practices and methods to improve efficiency and quality by monitoring the steps of the process, setting processing variables, monitoring personnel and resources, implementing cost reductions, and achieve efficiency gains to reduce routing times.
- Deal with enquiries from internal and external customers of Medisafe and Steris and maintain open lines of communication between departments, employees and management.
- Working with Materials Manager, Procurement Team, and Inventory Management functions to ensure timely supply of materials, achieve efficient day to day manufacturing, and prevent stock out issues.
- Management of KPI’s, and system management within MRP system where required.
- Improve and implement department and organisational policies and procedures to maximise output while ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Be responsible for all items relating to QMS and HSE systems to maintain ongoing daily standards and manage all relevant topics during audits.
- Monitor and manage departmental operational finances and control expenses in line with budget plan targets.
- Meet / exceed functional KPI metrics, implementing improvement opportunities, providing forecasts and regular updates for reporting purposes.
- Work closely with Quality and R&D Departments for any Sustainable engineering, product quality improvement or NPD projects.
- Provide relevant operational information for accurate budget planning each fiscal year.
Required Experience
The right candidate will have current / recent experience managing a production department, executing the manufacture of capital products, with an in depth understanding of all required functions involved in the delivery of a customer order, from conception through to completion. No specific education or qualifications required, but minimum of 5 years management experience in a manufacturing environment essential.

- Reporting and Communication: Track production metrics, report performance to senior management, and coordinate with other departments such as procurement, engineering, and finance.
