ROLE OVERVIEW The Regional Maintenance Manager EMEAA is a regional strategic leader and business partner, accountable for defining, governing, and delivering the Maintenance & Reliability (M&R) strategy across the EMEAA region.

Operating across 11 facilities and multiple sterilization modalities (EO, Gamma, E-Beam), the role balances short-, medium-, and long-term asset considerations to ensure safe, compliant, reliable, and predictable operations.

The position serves as the single regional point of accountability for asset reliability and unplanned downtime performance, aligning Engineering, Operations, Quality, EHS, Finance, Procurement, and Legal.

  • KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Regional Maintenance & Reliability Strategy Define, own, and continuously evolve the EMEAA Maintenance & Reliability strategy aligned with corporate objectives.

Apply risk-based and scenario-driven decision-making to anticipate asset, capacity, and reliability risks.

Translate strategy into multi-year roadmaps, prioritized initiatives, and measurable outcomes.

Provide governance to ensure consistent execution across all facilities.

  • Asset Lifecycle Stewardship Own execution of the regional Asset Management Plan across all sites and modalities, ensuring maintenance and reliability activity is delivered against it.

Lead asset lifecycle risk management, balancing near-term performance with long-term sustainability.

Play the lead role in identifying, quantifying, and highlighting Cap Ex requirements across the region, to contribute to capital planning and prioritisation.

Partner with Finance, Facilities, Procurement, and Engineering to develop robust business cases.

  • Reliability, Performance & Risk Management Deliver the regional Maintenance & Reliability program, shifting from reactive to proactive and predictive maintenance.

Own and govern regional M&R KPIs using data-driven performance management.

Lead RCA, FMEA, and repeat-failure elimination initiatives.

Own shutdown and outage processes in collaboration with Facility General Managers.

  • Digital Enablement & Data Partner with Corporate Engineering on the Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) platform.

Ensure asset data, documentation, and change records to support audit readiness and insight.

Drive consistent spare parts and inventory management through EAM.

  • Standards, Compliance & Engineering Governance Establish and maintain regional maintenance and engineering standards aligned with Global M&R.

Provide governance for maintenance practices, asset standards, and approved vendors.

Act as a regional escalation point for complex technical, regulatory, and compliance matters.

  • Safety, Quality & Regulatory Engagement Demonstrate visible leadership in reinforcing a Safety-First culture.

Partner with EHS and Quality to support audits, CAPAs, and inspection readiness.

Ensure maintenance strategies protect sterilization integrity and regulatory compliance.

  • Business Continuity & Resilience Own business continuity and contingency planning for planned and unplanned downtime.

Ensure recovery plans to protect customer supply and revenue.

  • Vendor & Contract Strategy Lead regional vendor and service contract strategy in collaboration with Procurement and Legal.

Ensure external service models align with reliability goals, cost efficiency, and risk management.

  • Capability, People & Succession Identify regional training and competency needs. Own succession planning for key maintenance and reliability roles.
  • Line manages the Corporate Maintenance Engineers (EO, Gamma, E-Beam), including regular 1:1s, individual development plans, and performance management, to build sustainable capability.
  • Business Partnership & Influence Act as a trusted business partner to Facility General Managers and site maintenance teams, supporting local execution of the regional M&R strategy.

Align competing priorities within a matrix organization.

Represent EMEAA Maintenance in global forums and Communities of Practice.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or maintenance discipline (required).
  • Extensive experience in regional or multi-site maintenance, reliability, or asset management roles.
  • Experience leading people through line management or influence.
  • Proven experience building and justifying capital investment cases and influencing senior stakeholders.
  • Deep, hands‑on maintenance experience in one of the three sterilization modalities (EO, Gamma, or E‑Beam) is strongly preferred, with a demonstrated track record of owning maintenance execution and building reliability within that modality.

A strategic, commercially aware leader with strong systems thinking and pragmatic execution capability.

Success is defined by the ability to anticipate risk, own maintenance execution, build a compelling case for capital investment, develop people, and protect long‑term asset performance across the region.

  • OTHER REQUIREMENTS
  • Frequent international travel across the EMEAA region.
  • Excellent communication skills in English; French and/or German is a strong advantage.
