Are you a commercially minded Finance Manager looking for an opportunity to influence business decisions, drive performance and help shape the future of a growing organisation? We’re looking for a proactive and motivated Finance Manager to join our Finance team, supporting a dynamic Consulting business within NHS Shared Business Services. This is a highly visible role combining financial management, business partnering and process improvement. You’ll work closely with senior leaders, providing insight that supports growth and informed operational decision-making.
You’ll support a diverse portfolio of consulting services across Finance, Commercial, HR and Automation practices, built on a strong NHS contract and an expanding, varied client base. This is an exciting opportunity to join an evolving organisation where you can make a meaningful impact.
This is more than a reporting role. You’ll sit alongside senior stakeholders, contribute to leadership discussions, challenge where appropriate and drive improvements to financial processes, reporting and overall business performance. This is a hybrid role, initially requiring 2 to 3 days per week onsite in Leeds while you embed into the team, reducing to at least one day per week thereafter, with occasional travel to London and Manchester.
What you'll be doing:
- Own financial reporting, forecasting, budgeting and month-end activities.
- Manage revenue recognition and financial performance across key client contracts.
- Deliver insightful analysis and commentary to support business decision-making.
- Prepare forecasts, variance analysis and financial models.
- Support business cases, investment decisions and commercial assessments.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance financial reporting and performance.
What you’ll bring:
- Qualified accountant with 1 of the following qualifications (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, ICAEW, CIPFA or equivalent).
- Strong experience in management accounting, forecasting, budgeting and financial reporting.
- Experience managing or supporting profit and loss performance.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capability with the ability to interpret complex data.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and confidence using Microsoft Office.
It would be great if you had:
- Experience working in a consulting, professional services or public sector environment.
- Experience supporting contract-based or client-driven revenue models.
- Experience improving or standardising financial processes and reporting.
If you’re interested in this role but not sure if your skills and experience are exactly what we’re looking for, please do apply, we’d love to hear from you!
Although this role is advertised as full-time, we believe that flexibility at work can promote work/life balance, increase your motivation, reduce stress and improve performance and productivity. We support different ways of working and can offer a range of flexible working arrangements. So, if you’re interested and need to work flexibly, we encourage you to apply and talk to us about what might be possible.
