We are dedicated to delivering person-centred care through our tailored services in solo occupancy homes. We support young individuals with complex needs, empowering them to thrive in a safe and nurturing environment. This is a full-time on-site role based in Westerhope as a Children’s Residential Support Worker. In this position, you will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day care, safety and well-being of children and young people in a residential setting.
Key duties include:
- Building positive relationships
- Implementing care plans
- Safeguarding
- Supervising daily activities
- Providing emotional support
- Maintaining a safe and nurturing environment
You will work closely with the team to create a supportive space that encourages development, independence and emotional growth for the children in your care.
Qualifications:
- Skills in providing support to children and young people, including experience as a Support Worker or similar role
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build trusting relationships and work effectively with colleagues and young people
- Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding practices and procedures
- Ability to provide technical support related to care plans and daily operations
- Resilience, patience and empathy in supporting young people with complex needs
- Level 3 in children’s residential or willingness to work towards it
- A relevant qualification in health and social care or a related field is advantageous
- Previous experience in a residential care setting is preferred but not mandatory
