Steps Ahead Care & Support, established in 2009, are rated OUTSTANDING by CQC and are specialists in acquired brain injury, spinal injuries, learning disabilities and challenging behaviour. We offer bespoke packages to clients in their own homes and our support team help build our ethos by promoting clients’ independence and offering them community-based and/or rehabilitation support.
We are looking to recruit passionate & enthusiastic support workers to join Team Steps and become part of what we believe to be something incredibly rewarding and person-centred. The client is a gentleman based in the Bristol area. He has an acquired brain injury and lives at home with his wife. The client loves going out for walks and having lunch somewhere – he enjoys people’s company and having someone to chat to.
This role requires providing support with all aspects of the client's daily living within the home and community-based rehabilitation. You will be supporting clients within the local community to promote their independence and enable them to reach their goals and aspirations. FULL client-specific training will be provided to all support workers.

This position will require predominantly weekday work yet it will require an element of weekend work - one shift every other week.
Support tasks and responsibilities may include:
- Assisting with the client's rehabilitation programmes
- Supporting with the completion of daily living tasks such as daily planning, meal planning and preparation to follow the client's dietary requirements
- Enabling the client to fulfil their goals and aspirations
- There may be some personal care required
We are looking for experienced support workers who are motivated and reliable with a passion for enabling rehabilitation and progression along with providing evolving support to empower clients to reach their goals, aspirations and potential. The client has worked very hard on his rehabilitation programme and is looking for more than just a support worker, but somebody to share his interests with. An eclectic interest in music would be advantageous in building a positive working relationship. You will be part of a positive and committed team, working alongside a team of other rehabilitation assistants.
The chosen individuals will be enthusiastic, reliable and self-motivated. We also require a clean driving license and a minimum of 6 months health and social care experience.
