Our firm is a leading reinsurance company based in the Cayman Islands, providing innovative risk transfer and capital management solutions across multiple lines of business. We work with global clients, delivering actuarial insight and analytical expertise that support sound underwriting, pricing, and reserving decisions.

They are seeking a
Junior Actuary
to join our growing actuarial team. The successful candidate will contribute to pricing, reserving, and financial modeling activities across
Property & Casualty (P&C)
and
Life reinsurance
portfolios. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain broad experience within a dynamic reinsurance environment and to progress toward actuarial qualification.

Salary Range: US$200-240k (tax free)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support actuarial analyses related to
    pricing, reserving, and capital modeling
    for reinsurance contracts.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of
    loss models, stochastic simulations, and scenario testing
    .
  • Contribute to the
    valuation of technical provisions
    and
    IFRS 17 / US GAAP reporting
    processes.
  • Perform
    experience studies
    ,
    trend analyses
    , and
    portfolio monitoring
    for both P&C and Life books.
  • Support underwriting and finance teams with data analysis, projections, and actuarial insight.
  • Collaborate on
    model validation, data quality assurance, and process improvement
    initiatives.
  • Participate in the
    actuarial student development program
    , working toward a recognized actuarial qualification (e.g., SOA, CAS, IFoA).

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor\’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
  • Senior Actuarial Qualification – FIA
  • 1–3 years of relevant actuarial experience, preferably in
    reinsurance
    ,
    insurance
    , or
    consulting
    .
  • Strong foundation in
    Property & Casualty actuarial techniques
    ; exposure to
    Life
    or
    Health
    reinsurance is an advantage.
  • Proficiency in analytical and programming tools such as
    Excel/VBA, SQL, R, Python
    , or
    SAS
    .
  • Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly.
