About the Role: We are looking for an experienced and compassionate Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) Practitioner to join our growing Specialist Support Services team. This role plays a key part in supporting services across the region to embed high-quality PBS practices that improve outcomes and quality of life for the people we support. You will work closely with operational teams, support staff, families, and external professionals to provide coaching, guidance, and behavioural expertise across services. The role will focus heavily on PBS coaching, reviewing and writing support plans, analysing behavioural data, supporting assessment and transition visits, and helping teams understand and respond positively to behaviours of concern. This is a highly rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about person-centred care, restraint reduction, and improving practice within a regulated care environment. The role requires flexibility, travel between services, and the ability to work independently whilst also contributing positively within a supportive multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide PBS coaching and support to teams across specialist support services.
- Review, update, and write high-quality Positive Behaviour Support plans.
- Complete behavioural assessments, data collection, and analysis to support effective interventions.
- Coach and mentor staff teams in the principles of Positive Behaviour Support and proactive strategies.
- Support colleagues during assessment visits, transitions, and complex case reviews.
- Promote restraint reduction techniques and support teams to reduce restrictive practices.
- Support teams to understand behaviours of concern and implement person-centred approaches.
- Lead or contribute to multidisciplinary meetings involving internal and external professionals.
- Maintain accurate records, documentation, and behavioural data in line with regulatory requirements.
- Ensure compliance with CQC standards, RRN guidance, and organisational policies and procedures.

Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience working within a PBS Practitioner role.
- PG Diploma, Masters in Positive Behaviour Support, Applied Behaviour Analysis, or equivalent qualification.
- Experience supporting individuals with autism, learning disabilities, intellectual disabilities, and behaviours of concern.
- Experience writing, reviewing, and implementing PBS plans.
- Knowledge and understanding of restrictive practice reduction and trauma-informed approaches.
- Strong understanding of CQC regulations and RRN guidance.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel between services.
- Experience supporting transition and assessment visits.
- Experience delivering PBS training and workshops.
- Knowledge of functional behavioural assessments and behavioural data analysis.
- Experience working across multiple specialist services or regions.
