Stepping Stones Museum for Children is a leading private learn-to-swim provider in Scotland, known for delivering high-quality, low-ratio swimming lessons for children in small groups of up to 6 children. We are seeking a Lead Swimming Teacher to join our growing team.

Role Overview

We are looking for someone fun, approachable, and passionate about working with children. As a Stepping Stones instructor, you will deliver our learn-to-swim framework to swimmers aged between 3 and 11 years. Building trust and becoming a role model for your students is essential. Classes are primarily during weekday afternoons and weekends, with various days and times available. Additional hours can be taken on a temporary or permanent basis.

Qualifications

  • National Governing Body Swimming Teacher Certificate (Essential)
  • Certifications such as SSTQ, UKCC, STA, ASA
  • NRASTC or NPLQ (Desirable but not essential)

Main Duties

  • Deliver swimming lessons following the Stepping Stones framework safely.
  • Progress and develop each swimmer.
  • Assess swimmers for awards twice per year.
  • Provide feedback to the office as required.
