We’re looking for Night Concierge Officers to join our Blackburn services, supporting two busy, 24/7 supported accommodation schemes. This is an opportunity to play a crucial role in keeping our services safe, supportive, and running smoothly overnight.
About the role
Working as part of a dedicated team, you’ll provide overnight support across Cherry Bridge Lodge or Skye Crescent Lodge, supporting adults with a wide range of needs including mental health, substance use, and complex behaviours. You’ll be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment while building positive, respectful relationships with residents—helping create the stability they need to move forward.
What you’ll be doing
- Maintaining building safety and security through CCTV monitoring and regular patrols
- Supporting residents with queries and promoting a calm, respectful living environment
- Managing incidents confidently using de‑escalation techniques
- Keeping accurate records and providing clear handovers to day staff
- Preparing rooms for new residents and maintaining communal areas
- Supporting new arrivals and ensuring residents feel welcomed and treated with dignity
About you
You’ll be resilient, practical, and driven by a genuine desire to help others. You’re someone who can stay calm under pressure, set clear boundaries, and build trust with people from a range of backgrounds. We’re particularly keen to hear from you if you:
- You have experience of dealing with vulnerable people from possible problematic backgrounds
- You have the ability to work with customers who have complex needs and who may be challenging to work with, and to respond to conflict situations in a calm yet firm manner
- You have the ability to support, cooperate and ‘teamwork’ with others to achieve common objectives
- You have an awareness of health and safety / personal safety issues in a support accommodation project
- You have an understanding of safeguarding issues
- You have the ability to act as an advocate and liaise with the relevant agencies
