We’re working with a wonderful SEN school in Milton Keynes that supports children and young people aged 4–19 with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Social Communication difficulties. It’s a calm, structured, and nurturing environment where students are supported to thrive academically and socially. All pupils have Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), and the curriculum is tailored specifically to the primary needs of autistic learners. Staff focus on developing communication, independence, and confidence at a pace that suits each individual.
The school is now looking for a compassionate and proactive Learning Support Assistant to join their team, a great opportunity for anyone interested in SEN, teaching, or educational psychology.
About the Role- Provide one-to-one and small-group support for pupils with ASD and social communication needs
- Assist teachers in delivering structured, tailored learning activities
- Help promote an inclusive, calm, and engaging classroom environment
- Support pupils with communication, routine, emotional regulation, and social skills
- Receive full training and ongoing support throughout your placement
- A degree (2:2 or above) in Psychology, Education, SEN, Humanities, or a related subject or strong A-levels in core subjects
- A genuine passion for supporting autistic young people
- A patient, caring, and resilient approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Any experience with SEN, Autism, or children is desirable but not essential
