Graduate Academic Coach (English & Maths Interventions) in Heywood

Are you graduating this year and looking to secure a role for September in education?

Do you have aspirations to become a teacher, educational psychologist, or work in a secondary school setting- but want to gain valuable classroom experience first?

We are working in partnership with a welcoming and supportive Secondary school near Heywood OL10 to recruit a full-time Graduate Academic Mentor for a September 2026 start. Interviews will be taking place throughout May and June.

This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands‑on experience across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4, while also developing key skills supporting students with Maths & English interventions and speech & language support.

What You’ll Gain:

Role Details:

• Location: Heywood OL10




• Start Date: September 2026




• Interview Period: May – June 2026




• Schedule: Full-time, Monday to Friday (term‑time only)




• Pay: £500–£530 per week

Key Responsibilities:

• Supporting teachers in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons




• Maths & English interventions




• Working 1:1 and in small groups with students, including those with SEND and SEMH needs




• Implementing strategies to support behaviour, emotional regulation, and engagement




• Assisting in the delivery of tailored interventions and differentiated learning activities




• Helping to manage classroom behaviour in a calm, consistent manner




• Building positive, trusting relationships with students to support their development




• Assisting with lesson preparation and classroom organisation

We’re Looking For Graduates Who:

• Hold (or are predicted) a 2:2 degree or above




• Have a genuine interest in supporting students with SEND and SEMH needs




• Are patient, resilient, and empathetic




• Can build positive relationships and remain calm under pressure




• Are confident, proactive, and adaptable




• Are committed for the full academic year (September 2026 – July 2027)




• Communicate clearly and work effectively as part of a team
