EAL Graduate Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated EAL(English as an additional language) Graduate Teaching Assistant to join support a fantastic secondary school in Birmingham.
This is an exciting opportunity for a graduate with a strong interest in education, language development, and supporting students in overcoming language barriers.

The Opportunity:

  • Graduate Teaching Assistant
  • ASAP start
  • Birmingham - B24 area
  • Aspiring teachers/educational psychologists/ SEN Teachers
  • Support EAL students in developing their English language skills across reading, writing, speaking, and listening.
  • Work closely with class teachers to adapt lesson materials and provide targeted support.
  • Assist in planning and delivering small group or one-to-one interventions
  • Help foster an inclusive classroom environment where EAL students feel valued and supported.
  • Support students with cultural adaptation and integration into school life.
  • Assist in the preparation of resources to aid language development.
  • Β£480 - Β£520 per week - term time only

The successful graduate must:

  • Be enthusiastic, confident and approachable
  • Have strong subject knowledge
  • Hold English Maths and Science (GCSE A* - C)
  • Be able to work effectively as party of a large team
  • Have strong communication and behaviour skills
  • Be able to inspire and motivate children in the classroom
  • Have high expectations and be committed to seeing all children reach their full potential
  • Be able to deliver well structured lessons for small groups/1:1 sessions
  • Be flexible and self-motivated
