EAL Graduate Teaching Assistant
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated EAL(English as an additional language) Graduate Teaching Assistant to join support a fantastic secondary school in Birmingham.
This is an exciting opportunity for a graduate with a strong interest in education, language development, and supporting students in overcoming language barriers.
The Opportunity:
- Graduate Teaching Assistant
- ASAP start
- Birmingham - B24 area
- Aspiring teachers/educational psychologists/ SEN Teachers
- Support EAL students in developing their English language skills across reading, writing, speaking, and listening.
- Work closely with class teachers to adapt lesson materials and provide targeted support.
- Assist in planning and delivering small group or one-to-one interventions
- Help foster an inclusive classroom environment where EAL students feel valued and supported.
- Support students with cultural adaptation and integration into school life.
- Assist in the preparation of resources to aid language development.
- Β£480 - Β£520 per week - term time only
The successful graduate must:
- Be enthusiastic, confident and approachable
- Have strong subject knowledge
- Hold English Maths and Science (GCSE A* - C)
- Be able to work effectively as party of a large team
- Have strong communication and behaviour skills
- Be able to inspire and motivate children in the classroom
- Have high expectations and be committed to seeing all children reach their full potential
- Be able to deliver well structured lessons for small groups/1:1 sessions
- Be flexible and self-motivated
