Stepien Lake LLP is a boutique property law firm based in London’s West End. We have a vacancy for a property PA to join our current fee earner support team of three to provide support to fee earners and partners on their real estate work in a busy but friendly environment.

Experience

All candidates must have at least 5 years’ experience working as a property secretary and worked in a regional/city property law firm/department. Good understanding of property matters and the conveyancing process and documentation.

Duties and requirements

  • Drafting documents as instructed by fee earners such as contracts, completion statements, leases, and other general documentation as required.
  • Post completion tasks including submission of Stamp Duty Land Tax returns.
  • Producing, amending and formatting of legal documentation, with or without using a workflow, using Microsoft Word including digital dictation transcription and/or copy typing.
  • Obtaining relevant property searches through Searchflow (or similar) software.
  • Lodging applications, registrations and requesting searches documentation from Land Registry.
  • Knowledge of Anti-Money Laundering identification checks.
  • Understand accounting ledgers to produce bills, completion statements and raise accounts requisitions for transactions.
  • Filing and general administration duties including uploading of documents to client extranet/portal.
  • Assisting with post including franking, scanning and distribution.
  • Liaising with clients on the telephone and in-person.
  • Welcoming clients for meetings including setup of boardrooms.
  • Stationery and refreshments orders as necessary.
  • All duties as reasonably requested.

  • Ability to work under pressure in an organised manner and prioritise work.
  • Familiar using a case management system and able to work electronically.
  • Advanced knowledge of Office 365 - Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Exceptional typing speed and accuracy.
