The Role
As a New Business Advisor, you will be the first point of contact for new client enquiries relating to Commercial Law, business disputes, and civil litigation. You’ll provide prompt and accurate advice over the phone, deliver outstanding customer service, and proactively identify opportunities to convert enquiries into instructions.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide clear, accurate advice on Commercial legal enquiries over the telephone
- Handle inbound enquiries efficiently, quickly identifying client needs
- Deliver exceptional customer service on every call
- Build strong relationships with clients and colleagues
- Work collaboratively with the Commercial Department to ensure enquiries are managed effectively
- Promote the Stephensons brand and maximise cross‑selling opportunities
- Maintain accurate internal records on case management systems
- Assess funding options and implement where appropriate
- Ensure compliance with Client Care and Law Society rules

Essential
You will need:
- 5 GCSEs at grade C / 4 or above (or equivalent)
- Experience dealing with high‑volume inbound calls
- Customer service experience (phone‑based or face‑to‑face)
- Experience within a sales or conversion‑focused role
- Excellent telephone manner and strong listening skills
- Good IT and keyboard skills
- Strong organisation and time‑management skills
- Ability to work calmly and productively amidst interruptions
Desirable
It’s helpful, but not essential, if you also have:
- Law degree or relevant legal experience
- Experience providing basic legal information
- Experience in the legal sector
- Familiarity with case management systems
- Knowledge of Commercial Law
- Understanding of time recording or basic legal costs
- Awareness of client care and complaints procedures
