The Role
As a Paralegal within our Clinical Negligence team, you will support solicitors in handling a varied caseload of complex and sensitive matters. This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly regarded and supportive team, where you will gain exposure to high-quality litigation work while developing your legal knowledge and practical skills. You will play a key role in supporting case progression and ensuring excellent client care throughout the lifecycle of each matter.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting solicitors with the day-to-day management of clinical negligence files
- Communicating with clients via telephone, email, and written correspondence
- Preparing funding documentation
- Requesting, reviewing, and managing medical records
- Preparing instructions to experts and counsel
- Drafting legal documents, including letters of claim, witness statements, schedules of loss, and court documents
- Preparing electronic bundles for conferences, hearings, and trials
- Arranging and attending conferences and meetings where appropriate
- Recording time accurately and supporting fee earners in meeting deadlines and targets
- Maintaining accurate records via the case management system and diary management
- Ensuring compliance with GDPR and firm policies
- Supporting wider team activities, including administrative tasks and collaboration with colleagues

- A proactive and professional approach to work
Desirable
It would be beneficial, though not essential, if you also have:
- Previous legal work experience (clinical negligence or personal injury preferred, with a good understanding of the litigation process)
- Experience preparing legal documents or bundles
