We are looking for a Lecturer in Animal Studies with the ability to deliver across the full range of the department’s provision. You will be responsible for the delivery and development of courses, bringing new ideas and technologies into the learning environment. Set in an 850‑acre countryside estate, our dedicated animal care unit is home to a range of animal species giving students hands‑on experience essential for a career in the industry. As well as relevant experience and current knowledge, you will need to obtain a teaching qualification (DTLLS, PGCE or equivalent) if you do not already possess one.

Responsibilities

  • Support learners through their programme and the specific qualification aims within
  • Write schemes of work and lesson and review plans
  • Be flexible in the delivery of education and training
  • Ensure completion of portfolios, coursework, own work and all other programme related student outputs within the scheduled scheme

Qualifications

  • Hold a minimum of a level 4 qualification or equivalent in relevant area
  • Ability to inspire and motivate learners to achieve excellent results
  • Experience of designing and delivering vocational / academic programmes to students and/or learners
  • Effective time management skills and be able to work to deadlines
  • Possess a teaching qualification or be willing to work towards one
  • Previous experience and knowledge of dog grooming is desirable
