We have an exciting opportunity for a Lecturer in Agriculture to join our team at Loughborough College Group, based at Brooksby College. In this role, you will use your expertise to inspire the next generation of agricultural professionals—helping students understand not just how things are done, but the vital why behind modern agricultural practice. As an Agriculture Lecturer, you will deliver teaching across our land-based provision, utilising a wide breadth of agriculture knowledge and experience. With an extensive 850-acre estate, including a mixed-use livestock and arable farm, Brooksby College offers an exceptional practical setting. As part of our dedicated land-based team, you will contribute to the planning, delivery, and ongoing development of our courses. You will bring excellent subject knowledge, strong industry insight, and the ability to apply a range of engaging, effective teaching methods.
Responsibilities of this role include:
- Planning, delivering, and assessing engaging lessons across crops, plant and soil and estate skills.
- Supporting and guiding students through practical and classroom-based learning.
- Developing course materials and contributing to the ongoing improvement of the Land based curriculum.
- Assessing and reviewing students' progression in the workplace.
- Ensuring high standards of health, safety, and welfare across all teaching and practical activity areas.
What we are looking for:
- Strong, up-to-date industry experience in agriculture—ideally with knowledge of crops, machinery, estate maintenance, or general farm operations.
- A passion for teaching and inspiring the next generation, with the ability to explain both theory and practical application clearly.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills, with confidence delivering to learners of varying abilities.
- A recognised teaching qualification (DTLLS, PGCE, or equivalent) or a willingness to work towards one.
- It is essential candidates have a full driving licence and access to a vehicle to use when visiting students in the workplace.
