Team Structure
This role is in the firm’s Partner HR team, made up of the Senior HR Manager and Partner HR Executive Assistant, who work with the Chief People and Talent Officer (CPO) in supporting partners on all HR related matters. The HR Manager supports the Senior HR Manager in the provision of a consistently high level, seamless HR service to our 250 global partners. The role will involve providing an enhanced level of support for partners, managing key annual processes and supporting the Senior HR Manager with projects in line with the firm's strategy. The role will also work closely with our key stakeholder groups including the Global Leadership Team (GLT), the Review Panel and the Supervisory Council as well as the Global People team, including the lateral partner recruitment team.
Main Responsibilities
- Onboarding and integration
- Leading on the implementation of the induction and integration plans and ensuring all onboarding arrangements and regulatory requirements have been satisfied globally;
- Driving forward the successful integration of partners working with key stakeholders in the firm;
- Managing the Partner HR Executive Assistant throughout and being a key point of contact for partner candidates as well as internal stakeholders.
Partner HR Support And Annual Partner Processes
- Leading on implementing changes to partner terms and supporting the life cycle of partners (i.e. sickness, sabbaticals, maternity/family leave, secondments, transfers, consultancy arrangements and departures etc).
- Overseeing the updating of the partner intranet site, as well as all Partner HR related filing, trackers, documents and the SRA.
- Managing the coordination of partner procedures such as the annual partner promotion process and supporting the Senior HR Manager to implement improvements. Supervising the Partner HR Executive Assistant throughout.
- Supporting with the implementation and analysis of the Partner engagement survey.
- Providing support on partner performance management.
- Leading on coordinating the annual partner appraisal process and being a key point of contact for partners and members of the GLT throughout.
- Supporting the Senior HR Manager and CPO with the annual partner moderation and remuneration review process.
- Assisting in other projects across the broader Global People team.
- Supporting with the firm’s growth in alignment with the firm’s strategy.
Relationships, Continuous Improvement And Reporting
- Line management responsibility for the Partner HR Executive Assistant.
- Working to upskill the Partner HR Executive Assistant through support and effective delegation.
- Sharing knowledge with the Global People team.
- Building and maintaining strong key relationships across the firm including the Global People team, Risk and Compliance, Accounts, Business Development and the GLT. Being a key point of contact for those teams on Partner HR related queries and working effectively as a team with the Partner HR Executive Assistant.
- Engendering trust and confidence when building relationships.
- Delivering excellent client service in collaboration with the Partner HR team and acting as a role model.
- Knowhow and guidance – leading on creating, maintaining and updating know how including step by step guidance on best practice and key partner processes.
- Continuous improvement – identifying and leading on improvements to help streamline processes, increase time efficiency and client service delivery.
- Supporting the Senior HR Manager with the analysis of partner data and reports.
- Deputising for Senior HR Manager in their absence.
Attributes/Skills Required
- Previous experience in a senior HR or business partner role within professional services or law firm sector is essential.
- Experience in partner HR related matters or processes would be beneficial.
- A service oriented commercially focussed approach.
- Strong organisational and project management skills and excellent attention to detail.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Resilient and pragmatic, with the ability to respond quickly to requests, manage time and stakeholders effectively, and to work and stay calm under pressure.
- Highly credible and ability to build strong relationships.
- Results-focused with a positive "can do" attitude.
- Experience of identifying and delivering process and service improvement.
- Effective line management experience.
- Analytical with the ability to create and interpret data.
