My client is a well-established quantitative investment manager, with offices in the US and UK. They are looking to hire an accountancy professional at a Vice President level into their Fund Treasury Team. The role will include:
- Financial reporting oversight
- Accounting oversight
- Vendor oversight
- Documentation of walkthroughs and risk assessments
- Accounting Policy - follow developments in Luxembourg GAAP relevant to the products’ investments.
- Fund related initiatives - lead/participate in various Fund related initiatives as they arise such as implementation of potential new strategies and investment types, regulatory updates, etc.
- Manage Offshore Team
Specific examples of duties:
- Oversight of the preparation, review, and issuance of the annual (and UCITs semi-annual) audited Financial Statements, and management of the audit process.
- Oversight of external service providers.
- European MiFID template review.
- Governing Documents (Prospectuses, KIIDs etc.) review in collaboration with Legal.
- Distributor oversight (review of new agreements as well as invoices management).
- Coordination and responses to internal commercial requests.
- Monthly revenue and expense analytics review.
Required Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting required; CPA/Chartered Accountant strongly preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in the investment management industry, Big 4 Public Accounting firm and/or relevant industry experience is preferred.
- Technical and business knowledge of various Fund structures (e.g., UCITS, AIFs, U.S. private funds) and structures (Master/Feeder, multi-class, etc.), as well as activities from an investment, operational, regulatory, accounting and financial reporting perspective.
- Advanced understanding of accounting principles and procedures, including in-depth knowledge of Luxembourg GAAP.
- Knowledge and experience across various asset classes (e.g., fixed income, alternatives and equities) and complex instrument types (e.g., derivatives, structured products).
