I am working with a UK based boutique investment management firm that provides specialist investment solutions to private clients, charities, professional advisers, and institutions. The firm offers both discretionary portfolio management and a range of investment funds designed to meet differing objectives and risk profiles. My client is now looking to grow its private client portfolio service and is therefore looking for an investment manager to be part of this growth.
The focus is on hiring a first-rate individual who identifies with the culture of the company and has experience of managing client relationships. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of client retention, a compelling business plan, and a transferable book of clients. This predominantly employee-owned firm has an excellent work culture and is in a period of expansion and growth.
The Role
As an Investment Manager, you will manage and maintain portfolios of private investment holdings. We’re seeking a generalist with experience in private market investments, a proven track record of implementing portfolio changes, and a strong ability to review performance and drive results. You will contribute to fostering a collaborative environment and improving the investment process.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage the private client portfolios
- Implement portfolio adjustments and conduct performance reviews
- Develop and refine the investment process in collaboration with the team
- Leverage industry knowledge and networks to identify high-impact market opportunities
- Develop and grow your book of private clients
Requirements
- In excess of 15 years experience as a bespoke investment manager
- At least CISI Level 6 or equivalent
- Proven track record of managing circa £100m+ of private client assets
- Element of a transferable book
- An interest in improving the investment process
- Strong familiarity with portfolio construction and investment management regulations
- Demonstrable interest in investments and private client portfolio management
