A Leadership Opportunity in Portfolio Management
Our client, a blue chip family office, is seeking a Head of Portfolio Management to drive its discretionary investment strategy, with a particular focus on ultra-high-net-worth (UHNW) clients. This is an opportunity to join a firm that combines cutting-edge technology with first-rate investment expertise, offering bespoke solutions across public and alternative markets, including private equity, hedge funds, and co-investments. The role requires strategic vision, intellectual agility, and technical acumen. It is suited to an individual who can navigate the complexities of portfolio construction, asset allocation, and investment risk management whilst engaging credibly with both clients and internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee the construction, execution, and monitoring of both model and bespoke discretionary portfolios, ensuring alignment with clients’ long-term objectives and risk profiles.
- Implement a rigorous investment framework, integrating asset allocation models, tax-efficient structuring, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Execute and monitor portfolio trades, maintaining a disciplined approach to investment governance.
- Develop and lead a research framework.
- Build relationships with fund managers.
- Present macroeconomic analysis and investment outlooks.
- Act as a trusted adviser, collaborating with Family Officers to develop tailored investment solutions for UHNW clients.
- Contribute to thought leadership and market commentary.
- Mentor and develop investment professionals, fostering an environment of intellectual rigour and high performance.
- Drive continuous improvement in investment processes.
- Significant experience in portfolio management, wealth management, or private banking, with a strong track record of working with UHNW clients.
- Deep expertise in asset allocation, investment risk management, and discretionary portfolio management.
- Strong knowledge of investment regulation, ensuring portfolios meet compliance standards while maximising performance.
- Must meet FCA requirements for an Approved Person.
Location: London (Hybrid – Minimum Four Days in Office)
Compensation: c.£150,000 base salary + Performance-Based Bonus + Benefits
